Legal Assistance & Paperwork

As Spain is a predominantly catholic country; Catholic weddings are possible for foreigners without the need for a second civil marriage to take place at home. We will advise you on all legal requirements that are required and monitor everything from start to finish. Unfortunately the legalities of getting married in a civil ceremony in Spain can be quite complicated as one person needs to be resident.

Most couples arrange their paperwork and register their marriage in their home country before coming to Spain. For the wedding in Spain they can then have a wedding blessing ceremony performed by a minister, during the ceremony the couple will make vows, exchange rings and the groom will kiss the bride, holding on to the notion of a traditional marriage ceremony. In all intents and purposes, it feels like an authentic wedding, even though the couple are already legally married.
